ICONS... inspiration
If you are asked to state your limitations what would they
be? Sincerely we all have limitations. We never had to choose where we wanted
to be born and how rich our parents should be.
Not attending the ‘good’ schools
is a common excuse people give. The type of schools we attend has some
influence on how good we are, but not an absolute deciding factor on who we
will end up as.
With a plethora of excuses and limitations, even when it
seems hope is lost, admiration of the life we would like to live or the kind
of persons we would love to be is ever alive in our minds. We see the great
people, iconic men and women who have excelled in their endeavors but often
times make the mistake of associating their success to some degrees of luck or
opportunities. It may be true that some people have luck and uncommon
opportunities, it is also true that the laws of success are open to everyone irrespective
of age or background.
An icon is a victim who just threw away all of their
excuses. What are your excuses? Is it possible to throw them away? People
usually do the mistake of developing dreams without self-discovery, that is,
you want things to be in a particular way without carrying out analysis to find
out if that is best for you. Imagine if Mike Tyson tried to make a career in
music and Michael Jackson tried to be a boxer? On one hand anything is
possible, but we are shaped to be who we are by our environments and childhood
passions and experiences. Michael Jackson was born into an environment where family
members loved music while Tyson had to fight his way in his neighborhood to
survive.
Discover your passion, develop a dream, convince yourself
you can make it and burn the excuses!
