Untold Lessons from Don Corleone #1 Communication

Listen carefully and intensely when someone speaks. Respond to questions as asked and refrain from adding unrequested information. Before considering to give answers to questions, understand the
reason behind the question - if need be, inquire why the question is asked. Be simple in declining to offer answers when you don’t consider it safe or appropriate to give answers. Speak carefully and be terse in your expressions. Never say more than necessary, instead say less than needed and always do so in a very low tone that it forces the listener to tilt. Communication is also about what is not said. Always listen and spot informations withheld and also learn to be a little obscure with words. Never argue! Don’t try to convince another person except there is a dire need to do so in matters of business. State your points and worry less about if the other accepts it or not.
Appearance is huge communication. Always appear calm and make it hard for someone to read your emotions. Refrain from excessive pranks, people won’t take you serious. Chose your laughters carefully, don’t laugh to please someone or so people don’t feel bad. Refrain from stories for the purpose of pleasure.

Talk like you are painting a picture. Be conscious of yourself the whole time and follow communication trend surgically. You should always have a reason to speak, and let it always be something edifying. Don’t ever feel pressured to talk when it’s not reasonable to do so for the purposes of pleasing people. Don't be eager to talk, never give a man an information that is not meant for him.
About secrets, remember, ’Three can keep a secret if two are dead’. Never tell anyone what you don’t want the whole world to hear.
